FROM INSILCO’S 16 MM FILM COLLECTION: An Evening of Movies & Popcorn

Among the International Silver Company Archives donated to the Meriden Historical Society by Insilco were a large number of 16mm films. We are in the process of sorting through them. The public is invited to view as many of the following films as we can squeeze into the time slot allotted to the this program:

  • Charlie Chaplin – Hero /The Lion Tamer /Died
  • Wings, Claws and Fangs – movies for kids
  • Abbott and Costello – Off my aching tooth
  • The Fleet that Came to Stay – WW II
  • Camera Thrills in Wildest Africa
  • 1946 News Parade –Atom bomb at Bikini Beach/ Paris Peace Talks
  • 1940 News reel – Call to arms / Sea battle
